Kaufberatung: Vespa P200 zu verkaufen

  • hello,
sorry my german is not so good. I am living in Germany and I am looking for a second hand vespa from the 80's to buy. something for everyday life. I have found the following and I will see it today. as you can see from the description below, it says the motorblock is oelfeucht. the main question is, how strict do you think is the TUV with such a case? the price of the vespa is 1300 Euro.. how much extra money do you think I will have to pay to pass the TUV check? plese see below the beschreibung:

  • Well, serious, its hard to say without Pictures and also hard to say how much money u need to spend to pass the TÜV. A Motorblock droping Oil could varie from "just need to seal the block again to a full Motor revision" depending on whats the reason for the Oil dropping. Be sure usually the TÜV will take anything serious when it comes to testing. So let us make an exsample, if u wanna be sure i would change the strokes, new brakes, new tires...would be around 100-120 bucks, but the incalculable part is the Motor, just sealing would be like 15 bucks plus some time, a whole revison would be some 100 bucks....well at least i guess u figure what i mean so far so its up to ya choice .... cheers

  • thank you Hosch. here is the link to the announcement:

I owuld be grateful if you could have a look and advise.. I am not familiar with the maintenance costs in germany, but according to what you say. in the worst case I soould be able to fix it with 300 euro?

    cheers

  • ohh boy, my first opinion? Looks to me like a Pakistani ride that got raped the last 10 yrs. I wouldnt go for it, except u are able to screw vespas proberly and u wanna let sink much money into that thang prolly 600-1000 bucks? Only god knows. I bet that baby will have alot more unknown treasures which will cost some bucks here and there
If i would be u i would spend like 6-700 bucks more and buy a propper px which has new TÜV (means 2 yrs) and is technical full funktional instead buying a thangy where only god knows how expensive it will get. Sorry for my badass english but iam shure u got my opinion, cheers

  • I agree that this bike has probably seen a fair amount of abuse (i. e. diy repairs obviously involving lots of tape instead of competence) over the years and therefore is way to expensive for its condition. Also keep in mind that the engine has done nearly 50k kilometers and I dare say if there has been any servicing engine-wise at all its quality should still be doubted. This means you won´t spend 1.333 Euros and end up with a fully roadworthy bike but should be prepared to spend 500-800 Euros on top for parts and labour. And for 2.000 Euros you will find a better and unmolested P200 for sure.

  • Like my fellows above already said, I would look after another 200 PX, if I were you. Nobody can surely say, what´s wrong with the motor after that serious amount of kilometres and what you then will have to pay, to get the MOT.

For somebody who deals with Vespas or has got the right experiences to screw on his own in his shed, the Vespa and the price would be probably right.

But as I see out of your plans, you want to ride it as a daily user. So out of that, better look after a better and MOT´d Vespa. ;)

Über Spritverbrauch spricht man nicht. Man hat ihn.

  • It doesnt matter, but it seems like this PX was imported from another Country. The Metal Shield with the Vehicleidentificationnumber doesn´t seems to be original. The Original Shields were rounded at the Corners
